In June 2023, the Investment, Mergers and Acquisitions Security Screening Act (Wet Vifo) came into effect. Certain transactions involving Dutch companies are now subject to a prior screening regarding national security. This is in line with the increased focus on national security, which unfortunately also has consequences for investments, such as longer processing times and uncertainty in transactions.
